30" x 40" Wood Lathe

Constructed from heavy-duty cast iron, the lathe offers exceptional stability and vibration control – even under demanding loads. The innovative motorized sliding bed increases spindle length from 20″ to 40″ with the turn of a switch, offering flexible turning options for larger workpieces like bowls or platters.

This model features a 3HP inverter-controlled motor, delivering consistent performance across a wide speed range (3-step pulley system with 36 indexing positions). The swing over bed can be extended from 590mm to 794mm, and swing over tool rest from 442mm to 646mm, providing excellent capacity for both spindle and faceplate turning.

A magnetically mounted control box allows the operator to reposition controls along the bed for safety and convenience – ideal for use in educational environments. Meanwhile, the cast iron tool rest base (banjo) ensures smooth, rigid tool support during turning.

Standard M33 x 3.5mm spindle nose and MT2 tapers on both headstock and tailstock allow for compatibility with a wide range of accessories. Optional tool rests and spindle configurations are also available to tailor the lathe to specific projects.
